Artist statement

Natasha is a ceramicist who has a passion and love for a traditional skill within ceramics which is throwing. She loves the connection and calming environment when she feels the clay in her hands and the machine creating a beautiful outcome which feel natural. She believes that every process within the traditional skill of throwing comes naturally and she doesn’t always need a plan in place. She makes all functional pieces that can sit within a kitchen or living area. Natasha is inspired by bold statement colours and loves to be in control with these by using her fingers or a paint brush. The inspiration of the use of colours is from the sunset and just happy bright colours to fill the day. She feels the colours also represent her bold and out their personality. Another interest of Natasha’s is wood turning and laminating acrylic within these different coloured woods to tie in with the bake ware collection she is focusing on at the minute. She believes that her work can be seen within the country home or modern contemporary home. Her strong Passion for the craft resolves with the beauty of the outcome.
